Afleet will build an unmanned surface vessel for MEWO
Afleet-the winner of our 2024 Techseed pre-acceleration competition-is spreading its wings and showing that innovation from the Starter community is gaining momentum! In 2025 it won the Golden Anchor at Baltexpo for the best offshore startup, and earlier this year it partnered with MEWO S.A. to build and deploy a state-of-the-art surface unmanned vessel of Polish manufacture. MEWO operates in the offshore industry and specializes in offshore geophysics, surveys of the Baltic seabed, wind farm support and hydrotechnical works. Afleet and MEWO's cooperation is the result of participation in the "Acceleration Zone" program, organized by the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone and the Gdansk Science and Technology Park. The program connects startups with large business partners, offering access to grants, real-world testing and the opportunity to commercialize developed solutions. The joint project between the two companies involves the development of a fully unmanned vessel that will be able to operate for up to five days at sea without making a port call. The new vessel responds to the Baltic Sea market's growing needs for offshore development, critical infrastructure monitoring, as well as shipping safety and environmental research. The launch is scheduled for 2026.
Finebite - beginnings at Starter
The Finebite app grew out of an idea that originated in 2013 at Starter. The team then operating under the name Pitu Pitu won its first startup competition and began developing the project, which evolved through Everytap to its current form as the Finebite app. From the beginning, the company's idea was to help restaurants attract guests when tables usually stand empty. Starter's support helped build the foundation for a company that today operates on a large scale and is recognized in the Tri-City and major cities in Poland. Finebite's story shows that a nationwide project can grow from a local startup ecosystem.
Unmanned vessels - the future is here
Afleet (formerly Officina Baltica) is a startup developing a complete system for real-time remote control of a fleet of unmanned maritime vessels from a single web application, enabling integration of new sensors, modules and functions and providing customers with ready-made data and reports. It was the winner of the Techseed pre-acceleration program in 2025 and won the Baltexpo award for best startup. Afleet's solutions improve the safety of offshore operations (operating from land), significantly reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, and offer a "data as a service" model. - from measurements to visualizations.
Mobile Monitoring - water quality monitoring
Mobile Monitoring is a smart water quality monitoring system using survey buoys and drones. Winners of the 3rd edition of Techseed's pre-acceleration program. The company found a market niche in which to pursue their goals and gain customers, and Techseed strengthened their sales and interpersonal skills. In 2023, they picked up the Golden Anchor at the maritime industry trade fair, Baltexpo, where they were awarded as the best startup. The company also received a special award from Polenergia and Equinor for the project developing the Baltic II & III offshore wind farm in the Energy area.
Blue Armada Robotics from Gdansk in NATO DIANA program
Blue Armada Robotics startup from Gdansk, Poland, which participated in the 2023 Techseed program, has qualified for the prestigious NATO DIANA (Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) program. Their innovative approach to monitoring maritime critical infrastructure has been recognized internationally. Blue Armada builds autonomous unmanned boats and monitoring systems to quickly identify threats and continuously monitor sensitive underwater facilities.
Business plan written at youth camp
Arete Projects was born during Innovation Camp by Starter, when as a team they developed the idea of an app with gamification elements to encourage residents to report and dispose of bulky waste. The challenge was provided by the Recycling Plant in Gdansk. Arete Project P.S.A., specializes in designing and implementing applications and websites, realizing the application for ODN Rewers in cooperation with the Gdansk Tourism Organization. Cooperation with Starter continues - Jakub Majewski is a mentor and juror for Innovation Camp and other activities for young people.
SentiOne in the Middle East
SentiOne is a Polish artificial intelligence-based platform that combines social listening (internet and social media monitoring) with customer service automation using chatbots and voicebots. The company helps brands monitor millions of online mentions in real time, analyze sentiment and prevent image crises, and better understand customer needs through advanced data analytics. SentiOne is headquartered in STARTER and operates in the Central and Eastern European markets, covering 26 countries in Europe. The company has offices in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, among others, and is developing a presence outside Europe - including in Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
Finalrentals winner of Seamless Dubai 2021 award
Finalrentals is an international car rental platform created that operates in more than 50 countries and 500 locations on several continents, offering customers simple, fully digital car reservations at competitive prices. The company has its European headquarters in STARTER. In 2021, Finalrentals was the winner of the prestigious Seamless Dubai 2021 Award in the Design and User Experience category.
Just Join IT - recruitment platform for IT
Just Join IT is a Gdansk-based tech startup that created a job posting platform for the IT industry, helping connect developers and tech professionals with employers across the country. Just Join IT was headquartered in STARTER and was one of the companies incubated by the Gdansk Entrepreneurship Foundation. In 2020, Just Join IT won the title of "Young Company of the Year" in the prestigious "Pomorskie Sztormy 2020" poll. Today, the company is still located in Gdansk, in a neighboring building - the Olivia Business Centre.
