Planning to enter a foreign market? Take advantage of BSR Go-abroad’s free tools

Entering a new market is about much more than finding potential customers. A company needs to assess its readiness, understand the local business environment, check applicable regulations, identify the right partners, and carefully prepare its first steps.

As part of the BSR Go-abroad project, a Community Platform has been developed that combines practical tools supporting internationalisation with access to the knowledge and experience of experts from the Baltic Sea Region. It is available free of charge to companies and organisations interested in internationalisation and cooperation in the region.

Talk to an expert who knows your target market

One of the most valuable opportunities available on the platform is free one-to-one consultation with local business development experts. If you are considering entering a specific market in the Baltic Sea Region, you can request a consultation on topics such as:

  • market entry strategy,
  • finding local partners,
  • regulations and requirements,
  • local business culture,
  • funding opportunities.

After you submit your request, a local expert will contact you to discuss your needs and provide tailored support related to the selected market. This is particularly useful when analysing available data is not enough and you need insights from someone who understands the local business environment.

Start by exploring the market

The platform provides a range of tools that can help companies prepare for international expansion.

The BSR Go-abroad resources include:

  • the Screening Tool, which helps assess a company’s readiness for internationalisation,
  • the Playbook, which helps structure the different stages of the internationalisation process,
  • a tool supporting research into potential target markets.

Additional materials and external resources are also available to support the analysis of new expansion opportunities, along with the possibility to compare cultural differences between markets.

With the platform, you can start by gathering information and gaining a better understanding of a potential market. Then, if you need more detailed knowledge, you can arrange a consultation with a local expert.

Support for organisations working with companies

The Community Platform can also be used by business support organisations, advisors, and other organisations working with startups and SMEs.

Access to the tools and knowledge developed within BSR Go-abroad makes it possible to complement local advisory services with an international perspective. If you need information about a specific market, you can be directed to the relevant resources or to a consultation with an expert who understands the local conditions.

In this way, the experience and solutions developed during the BSR Go-abroad project can continue to support entrepreneurs and organisations even after the core project activities have ended.

Join the BSR Go-abroad Community

Registration on the platform is free of charge.
