The best way to enter foreign markets? The Blueprint will show it – step by step!
BSR Go-abroad is a project co-financed by the European Union that strengthens the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Baltic Sea Region. Its objective was in particular to:
- Provide companies with the knowledge, tools, and network of contacts necessary to implement effective international strategies.
- Build strong local value chains, enabling smaller companies to better protect themselves against global supply disruptions caused, for example, by pandemics or financial crises.
- Reduce the gap in international engagement, as small companies are significantly less likely to export their goods.
- Stimulate innovation and growth, as research shows a correlation between internationalisation and better financial performance, as well as faster creation of new jobs.
As part of the project, a Blueprint was developed — a practical guide for companies and business support organisations involved in cross-border trade. It describes a proven four-step acceleration methodology that guides companies from an initial assessment to establishing business contacts.
It also provides ready-to-use tools, such as the “Internationalisation Readiness Assessment” and the “Go-to-Market Playbook”.
For policymakers and business support organisations, it offers recommendations on how to effectively support local trade and cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region.
